Modular bike and scooter storages for Vilnius
18 bicycle storage facilities - the first stage in creating an efficient bicycle and scooter parking and storage infrastructure in the city of Vilnius. In subsequent stages, the storage network must be expanded taking into account the complex criteria of population concentration and ease of use.
Bauland has designed a modular bike storage, which aims to convert a shipping container into a two-level bicycle storage space. The design also offers charging of electrical bicycles and scooters, a quick repair spot and card system with sliding gate to access the storage.
For architectural detailing, the decision was made to use a combination of dark colored metal and perforated metal mesh. It is also proposed to install a green roof with extensive landscaping using low-maintenance evergreen plants. The design is modular offering to add green resting spots too.
