Multi-purpose sports complex with football stadium in Klaipėda
After analyzing the existing situation and demand of sports infrastructure in Klaipėda city and region, the results of creative workshops and public surveys, we clearly understood that the city has great ambitions for the development of sports infrastructure. Multi-purpose sports complex with fottball stadium would be useful not only for Klaipėda, but also for the entire region in the long term.
After analyzing examples of good practice from other European cities, we proposed a functional program suitable for a multi-purpose complex in Klaipėda region. The study proposes 3 development scenarios that include different levels of ambition for the area: a sports complex (1), a multifunctional sports complex (2) and the development of the eastern part of Klaipėda (3).
During the creative workshops, the most ambitious scenario was favored. Together with the football stadium, new public infrastructure is envisioned, including an extensive street network, additional public transport lines, bicycle connections and network of public spaces.
