The Klaipėda University territory is situated in a strategically important location, at the busy intersection of Liepojos St., P. Lideikio St., and Šiaurės Ave. This location is distinguished by a unique combination, integrating a rich natural environment (Klaipėda Recreation Park, meadows), major city arteries, and significant historical heritage, including a fragment of Naujamiestis (New Town), a barracks complex, and German military cemeteries. However, despite this potential, the territory’s current condition is characterized by the fragmentation of urban and natural structures and an evident lack of strong pedestrian connections, which hinders cohesive development and territorial integrity.

The main goal of the project is to transform this territory into a vibrant, cohesively integrated, and attractive part of the city. This will be achieved by creating clear functional zones: a modern wellness complex with sports infrastructure and pools, a science and research zone with laboratories and administrative buildings, and a social-residential zone encompassing “co-living” spaces, a kindergarten, and a school. The development is based on the principles of integrity, sustainability, and respect for heritage, ensuring a unified architectural concept. Special attention is given to landscape architecture and the creation of a new pedestrian pathway network to resolve the existing fragmentation and unite the territory into a harmonious whole.
